AMAX's advanced solutions design and manufacturing capabilities offer customers superior engineering, test, programming and deployment solutions for all your OEM product needs. |
| Platform Design |
AMAX specializes in platform design to meet your precise requirements. Since one-size does not fit all, AMAX integrates an x86 based, open-architecture approach which allows the flexibility of integrating the most cutting-edge components on the market into customized appliance platforms based on your desired form factors, performance specifications and lifecycle and compliance requirements. Whether it's an enterprise networking appliance or a highly-regulated medical device system, AMAX's custom-designed OEM appliance solutions support a wide range of OS environments including Linux, BSD and Windows.
Our experienced OEM team understands all aspects of solution considerations, including component life cycle, custom-branded chassis, thermal and airflow dynamics, compliance regulatory requirements, revision control, and BIOS and OS conflicts. AMAX's appliance-design approach ensures time-to-market acceleration and reduces total cost of ownership with overall emphasis on quality, consistency and reliability that your customers demand.
Engineering Expertise
AMAX's mission is to provide the best in-class engineering services, support and technologies to meet your project demands. Our engineering approach creates reliable high-performance solutions using standard components focused on time-to-market and extended life cycles. AMAX provides complete design and manufacturing capabilities for any vertical markets. We work with you to provide optimum solutions for your specific needs ensuring quality and consistency on every build whether it's 100 to 10,000 units per month. We do this based on more than 30 years of engineering expertise with both the technical landscape and the dynamics of the vertical market to help you gain a competitive advantage.
Global Compliance
Often the most difficult part of a global rollout comes down to compliance. As part of our standardized process, all AMAX hardware platforms can be designed and tested to meet stringent compliance and regulatory standards such as UL, FCC, CE, TUV, RoHS, and other foreign regulatory compliance certifications. In addition, we handle compliance certification for security appliances installed in government agencies and highly-regulated medical device systems, which are required to meet unique certification requirements.
With extensive experience working closely with National Recognized Test Labs (NRTL), AMAX will handle the entire certification process including conformity assessment, product listing, follow-up services and documentation - all on your behalf. Our expertise and experience will ensure your products meet industry standards anywhere in the world, expediting time-to-market by eliminating non-compliance issues.

Prototype Development
AMAX offers fully-functional prototypes for proof-of-concept, software testing and development or to validate potential technology platform changes. Since this is a key step in the appliance manufacturing process, we will thoroughly test the hardware configurations and will work with your engineering team to provide design for manufacturability (DFM) and point out cost reduction and system enhancement alternatives. Most importantly, we will address any concerns you may have about the prototype, then modify it based on your feedback and submit the final system specifications to you. Once the final prototype is approved, AMAX places the Bill of Materials into revision control, and step-by-step manufacturing process instructions are created.Quick prototype turnaround is an AMAX advantage with our in-house engineering capabilities.

MPI Design
AMAX's customized Manufacturing Process Instructions (MPI) Design is used to regulate engineering process specifications with specific instructions for controlling individual system processing and for assuring a documented and repeatable process. As a key advantage to your project success, they provide clarification of the procedures and additional process detail that eliminates interpretations on the production floor that could result in lack of control and repeatability.
Our intuitive MPI Design allows for changes in procedures without having to rewrite the engineering process specification. MPIs are written and controlled by our manufacturing development engineers and through a comprehensive approval process they are then integrated into our final production procedures. To assure the smooth operation of the MPI practice, AMAX has established a departmental instruction for the preparation, release, maintenance and control of MPIs to ensure build consistency every time.
