ACMA Launches New Personal Supercomputer Workstation
Fremont, CA - November 18, 2008 – ACMA, a leading provider of custom servers and storage solutions in North America, launches a dedicated, high performance Tesla Personal Supercomputer. ACMA's Helios PSC solution transforms a workstation into a cluster, with support for up to 720 processing cores and three TeraFlops in a single workstation.
ACMA's Helios PSC is a cluster in a box. It is optimized for scientific computing, delivering up to15x cost savings and 15x lower power than traditional 1U rack-optimized servers. They are ideal for life sciences, geosciences, engineering & sciences, molecular biology, medical diagnostics, electronic design automation (EDA), government and defense, visualization, financial modeling, and oil & gas applications.
In addition, the ACMA Helios PSC delivers the massive processing computing power previously available only from supercomputers to scientists, engineers and other technical professionals, enabling timely discoveries that transform billions of lives every day. It enables the necessary transition to energy efficient parallel computing power, with simplified application development. It also enables universities, research institutions, and companies in these and other fields to complete exponentially complex simulation models much quicker than before.
Additional features of ACMA's Helios PSC solutions include:
- Industry's first massively multi-threaded architecture with 240-cores
- Parallel architecture delivers optimum scaling across HPC applications
- High-efficiency computing platform for energy-conscious organizations
- NVIDIA CUDA™ technology unlocks the power of Tesla GPU computing products
- Standard C compiler simplifying application development
- A suite of developer tools (C-compiler, debugger, performance profiler, optimized libraries)
- Largest ISV development community for GPU Computing applications
- Seamlessly fit into existing HPC environments
"ACMA is proud to be working closely with technology partners such as NVIDIA to deliver best-in-class, high performance personal supercomputing solutions that address customers' most demanding HPC application and I/O requirements," said Matt Thauberger, ACMA Sales Manager. "Our Helios PSC platform dramatically reduces computational times from weeks and months to hours and minutes. It represents one of the most significant product innovation in the high-performance computing industry."
"The Helios PSC personal supercomputer delivers massively parallel computing in a standard workstation form factor, Supercomputing can now be truly accessible to all computational researchers," said Andrew Walsh, General Manager, Personal Supercomputing at NVIDIA.
